Our Valentine’s craft and art session in Shrewsbury is a creative, hands-on experience designed to inspire children through play, imagination, and outdoor learning. Set in our beautiful woodland environment at Love2Stay, this session encourages children to explore, experiment, and express themselves through art.
Using natural materials and a wide range of craft resources, children will take part in engaging activities such as painting pebbles, creating nature-themed hearts, designing handmade cards, and producing artwork inspired by the forest surroundings.
This special Valentine’s session also introduces children to Valentine’s traditions from around the world, linking cultural learning with creative expression:
-
In Wales, children exchange wooden spoons — participants will create and decorate their own spoon.
-
In Germany, pig-shaped gifts symbolise good luck — children will decorate their own lucky pig.
-
In Finland and Estonia, Valentine’s Day is celebrated as Friends’ Day — children will design and make personalised cards for friends and family.
The session includes storytelling and visual learning to bring these traditions to life, helping children connect creativity with global cultures.
All materials are provided, including pebbles, paints, cardboard templates, wooden spoons, decorative items, string, and craft supplies.
Date & Time: Saturday 14th, 2:00pm – 4:00pm
Theme: Valentine’s Day — children are welcome to wear something red
About Our Creative Team
Our children’s craft and art sessions at Love2Stay Shrewsbury are led by experienced educators Adele and Michelle, who specialise in early years education, outdoor learning, and creative play.
Adele, Director of Shropshire Tutor, brings over 30 years of teaching experience from EYFS to secondary level, while Michelle is an EYFS specialist with a strong background in early childhood development. Together, they deliver engaging forest school activities, seasonal crafts, and creative workshops for children in Shropshire.
Set within our woodland environment, these sessions support confidence, imagination, wellbeing, and hands-on learning. Children are encouraged to explore nature, express their ideas through art, and enjoy meaningful outdoor experiences.
As Pablo Picasso said, “Every child is an artist.” We are proud to nurture creativity through fun, high-quality children’s activities in Shrewsbury.
As this is a hands-on arts and crafts session involving paint, glue, and natural materials, children should wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting messy. Older clothing or craft aprons are ideal. Sessions take place outdoors, so we also recommend dressing appropriately for the weather, including warm layers in cooler conditions and sun protection on warmer days.
